Logs

In logs contains information about requests to public containers.

You can dump logs through the control panel. You can also work with logs via Selectel Storage API.

Uploaded logs are stored in the selected container. Storage of logs is charged in the same way as storage of other objects in the storage, see the instructions for details Object storage fee and pricing model.

Log fields

client_ipIP address from which the request came
client_to_server_bytesNumber of bytes transferred during a request to the storage

Upload logs

  1. Create a log upload.
  2. Download the log upload.

Create a log upload

  1. In control panels go to Object storageLogs.
  2. Select region and pool.
  3. Click Create upload.
  4. Specify the period for which you want to upload logs.
  5. Optional: select fields which will be displayed in the logs. If not selected, all fields will be displayed in the upload.
  6. Optional: select containers for which logs will be included in the upload. If you do not select containers, logs for all containers will be included in the upload.
  7. Optionally: specify a retention period for the logs or leave the storage indefinite. When the retention period expires, the log file will be deleted from the container.
  8. Select the container in which the log file will be saved. If there are no containers in the storage, click Create a container and create a new container.
  9. Click Create upload. The upload will appear on the page Log upload log status IN PROGRESS. When the upload goes to the status DONEyou'll be able to download it.

Download the log upload

You can download a log upload that has not expired.

For your information

If the deadline has expired, the upload will be displayed on the page Log upload logBut the log file will be deleted and the download will not be available. You can recreate the upload with the same parameters.

  1. In control panels go to Object storageLogs.
  2. On the menu. uploads, select Download the upload.

Re-create log upload

If the storage period of the log file has expired or an error occurred when creating the upload, you can repeat the upload with the same parameters.

  1. In control panels go to Object storageLogs.
  2. On the menu. uploads, select Re-create upload. The new upload will be added as a separate line on the page Log upload log status IN PROGRESS. When the upload goes to the status DONEyou'll be able to download it.
