Customize the maintenance window

During the maintenance window, automatic actions may occur to maintain your cluster, auto-update system certificates.

Every day at the selected hour, the cluster enters MAINTENANCE mode, during which cluster scaling is not available. Master node service takes up to two hours to complete. It takes about 30 minutes to maintain a single work node. The total service duration depends on the number of nodes in the cluster. During this time, the cluster is operating normally and is accessible over the network. An application that is running in a cluster will run without changes, stops, or delays.

When create cluster in the control panel, the default time will be set to 4am in your time zone. You can change the maintenance window for a cluster that is already running.

  1. In Control Panel, go to Cloud Platform → Kubernetes.
  2. Open the cluster page → Settings tab.
  3. In the Automation block, select a new maintenance window.
