Set the maintenance start time in a Managed Kubernetes cluster

Every day at the selected hour, the cluster enters MAINTENANCE mode. During this time, automatic cluster maintenance and system certificate auto-renewal may occur in the cluster. Cluster scaling is not available during maintenance.

Master node maintenance takes up to two hours. Maintenance for one worker node takes about 30 minutes. The total maintenance duration depends on the number of nodes in the cluster. During this time, the cluster operates normally and is available over the network. Applications running in the cluster will continue to work without changes, interruptions, or delays.

When creating a cluster in the Control panel, the default time will be set to 4 a.m. in your time zone. You can change the maintenance start time for an already running cluster.

  1. In the Control panel, on the top menu, click Products and select Managed Kubernetes.
  2. In the Clusters section, open the cluster page → Settings.
  3. In the Automation block, select a new maintenance start time.
