Set the service start time

Every day at a selected hour, the cluster enters MAINTENANCE mode. During this time, automatic cluster maintenance actions and auto-update of system certificates can occur in the cluster. Cluster scaling is not available during maintenance.

It takes up to two hours to service a master node. It takes about 30 minutes to service a single worker node. The total maintenance duration depends on the number of nodes in the cluster. During this time, the cluster runs normally and is available over the network. An application that is running in the cluster will run without changes, stoppages, or delays.

When you create a cluster in the control panel, the default time will be set to 4 a.m. in your time zone. You can change the service start time for an already running cluster.

  1. In the dashboard, on the top menu, click Products and select Managed Kubernetes.
  2. Open the cluster page → Settings tab.
  3. In the Automation block, select a new service start time.
