Product Description File Storage

Selectel File NAS is a fault-tolerant, scalable file system for data storage. You can hook it up:

File storage can be connected to multiple products, including in different pools. For example, you can connect the storage to a dedicated server in the SPB-1 pool and a cloud server in the ru-7a pool segment — the servers can use the storage at the same time.

File storage runs on cloud platform network volumes with triple replication of disk volumes.

NFSv4 and CIFS SMBv3 protocols are supported.

The product supports user types and roles.

Restrictions

File storage operates in read and write mode only.

The minimum file storage size is 50 GB and the maximum is 50 TB.

File storage with NFSv4 and CIFS SMBv3 protocols does not support access rights differentiation. Guest access is provided to mount the file storage.

What you can use

To store large amounts of data, that do not need to be read or rewritten frequently:

  • backups;
  • archives;
  • documents
  • basic infrastructure for storing data when local or physical disk cannot be attached;
  • storing datasets and models in machine learning clusters;
  • storing "raw" data for high performance computing;
  • can be used in Kubernetes as a Persistent Volume with ReadWriteMany access mode (mount the volume to multiple nodes)
  • for workloads that require higher I/O performance;
  • storing datasets and models in machine learning clusters;
  • storing raw data for high-performance computing;
  • can be used in Kubernetes as a Persistent Volume with ReadWriteMany access mode (mount the volume to multiple nodes)

You can view the availability of file storage in regions in the File Storage availability matrix.
