Delete a cloud server

After deletion, a cloud server and its volumes cannot be recovered.

A local boot disk is deleted together with the server; a network boot disk can be detached from the server before deletion.

Control panel

1. To save data, detach the network boot disk from the server.

2. In the control panel, in the top menu, click Products and select Cloud Servers.

3. In the menu of the server, select Delete server.

4. Optional: select the volumes and public IP addresses you want to delete along with the server.

5. Click Delete. If you selected disks and public IP addresses in step 4, they will be automatically deleted together with the server.

OpenStack CLI

If network ports are connected to the server, when deleting via the OpenStack CLI, they will not be deleted, but only detached from the server. To delete a port, use the Delete port instructions.

1. Open the OpenStack CLI.

2. To save data, detach the network boot disk from the server.

3. Delete the cloud server:

   openstack server delete <server>

   Specify <server> — the server ID or name. You can view the list of servers using the command openstack server list
