Manage load balancer operation

You can manage the load balancer: turn off and turn on.

Turn off load balancer

If a load balancer is turned off, you are still charged for it.

Control panel

1. In the control panel, in the top menu, click Products and select Cloud Servers.
2. Go to Load Balancers → Load Balancers tab.
3. In the menu of the load balancer, select Disable load balancer. The load balancer status will change to OFFLINE.

OpenStack CLI

1. Open the OpenStack CLI.

2. Turn off the load balancer:

   openstack loadbalancer set --disable <loadbalancer>

   Specify <loadbalancer> — the ID or name of the load balancer. You can view the list using the command openstack loadbalancer list.

   The load balancer status will change to OFFLINE.

Turn on load balancer

Control panel

1. In the control panel, in the top menu, click Products and select Cloud Servers.
2. Go to Load Balancers → Load Balancers tab.
3. In the menu of the load balancer, select Enable load balancer. The load balancer status will change to ACTIVE.

OpenStack CLI

1. Open the OpenStack CLI.

2. Turn on the load balancer:

   openstack loadbalancer set --enable <loadbalancer>

   Specify <loadbalancer> — the ID or name of the load balancer. You can view the list using the command openstack loadbalancer list.

   The load balancer status will change to ACTIVE.
