Create Hive Metastore cluster
-
In the Control panel, in the top menu, click Products and select Hive Metastore.
-
Click Create cluster.
-
Enter the cluster name.
-
Select a location. You cannot change the location after the cluster is created.
-
Select the Hive Metastore version. You cannot change the version after the cluster is created.
-
Fill in the sections:
- Configuration;
- Data storage;
- Network;
- optional: Additional parameters.
-
Check the cluster price.
-
Click Create cluster.
Configuration
-
Select the Hive Metastore configuration.
-
Select the PostgreSQL configuration.
After creating a cluster, you can change configurations.
Data storage
Connecting buckets is only available with the vHosted addressing type.
-
In the Region field, enter the region where the S3-compatible storage is located. If you use Selectel S3 as S3-compatible storage, enter the pool where S3 is located (for example,
ru-1). -
In the Endpoint field, enter the S3-compatible storage endpoint in the format
https://<domain>.Specify
<domain>— the domain of the S3-compatible storage. If you use Selectel S3 as S3-compatible storage, enter the endpoint in the format
https://s3.<pool>.storage.selcloud.ru, where<pool>is the pool where S3 is located (for example,ru-1). If S3 and the Hive Metastore cluster are located in the same pool, the connection to S3 is established over a dedicated network that provides higher bandwidth than the cluster subnet. -
Enter the bucket name.
-
Optional: in the Warehouse path field, enter the prefix under which Hive Metastore will place metadata and table data. We recommend specifying a prefix to avoid overwriting and deleting data when multiple Hive Metastore clusters use the same bucket. If you leave the field blank, metadata will be placed in the root of the bucket.
-
In the Access Key field, enter the access key ID. If Selectel S3 is used as data storage, enter the value of the Access key field from the S3 key.
-
In the Secret Key field, enter the secret access key. If Selectel S3 is used as data storage, enter the value of the Secret key field from the S3 key.
-
Optional: to check the connection to the bucket, click Check connection.
After the cluster is created, you can change the data storage.
Network
A Hive Metastore cluster can only be connected to a private subnet. You can create a new subnet or add the cluster to an existing one. You cannot change the subnet after the cluster is created.
New private subnet
Existing private subnet
-
In the Subnet field, select New private subnet.
-
In the Network field, select an existing network or create a new one.
-
Optional: change the subnet CIDR.
Optional: Advanced settings
To access cluster logs, enable logging. The Logs service is used for logging.
-
Select the Collect technical cluster logs into the log service checkbox.
-
Select a log group or create a new group.
-
If you selected a new group, enter its name.
