# General information about the Certificate Manager product

Certificate Manager is a unified, secure service for managing TLS and Let’s Encrypt® [certificates](#certificates) and storing private keys.

You can work with certificates in the [control panel](https://my.selectel.ru/vpc/), via the [User Certificates API](/api/certificates-manager/), [Let’s Encrypt® Certificates API](/api/lets-encrypt-certificates/) or [Terraform](/terraform/providers/).

The product supports: [user types and roles](/access-control/access-management.mdx), [projects](/access-control/projects/about-projects.mdx).

Records of certificate operations are saved in [audit logs](/audit-logs/about-audit-logs.mdx).

## Certificates \{#certificates}

In Certificate Manager, you can [store TLS certificates](/certificates-manager/certificates/user-certificates.mdx) obtained from certificate authorities, as well as self-signed certificates. For domains added to [DNS hosting](/dns-hosting/), you can [issue a Let’s Encrypt® certificate](/certificates-manager/certificates/lets-encrypt.mdx) with automatic renewal.

Public key encryption algorithms supported for certificates are RSA and ECDSA.

You can download a certificate, intermediate certificate chain, root certificate, and private key.

Certificates can be used in a [cloud load balancer](/cloud-servers/load-balancers/).
