CDN Resource Domains

Last update:

Content can be distributed via the default domain and a custom domain.

Default domain

The default domain is automatically generated when creating a CDN resource. Example of a default domain: a051e1d7-9f5d-4325-a2d3-947e4cd635a3.selcdn.net.

A (TLS)SSL certificate is automatically issued for the default domain. Content is distributed via the HTTPS protocol.

You can view the default domain in the control panel: in the top menu, click ProductsCDNCDN Resources → CDN resource page → Main.

We recommend adding a custom domain to the CDN resource — using third-party domains may hinder website promotion and affect search engine rankings.

Custom domain

Content can be distributed using a custom (personal) domain. In this case, requests will be redirected to the default domain via a CNAME record.

Only a third-level subdomain of the main domain can be used as a custom domain, for example cdn.example.com for example.com. You cannot use the main domain as a custom domain.

For a custom domain, you need to issue a TLS(SSL) certificate or upload a custom certificate.

You can add a custom domain by following the instructions in Adding a custom domain to a CDN resource.
