# Delete account

Only the [Account Owner](/access-control/user-types.mdx#account-owner) can submit a request to delete an account.

1. Before submitting a request:

   * refuse active services;
   * [settle any outstanding balance](/balance-and-payments/manage/top-up-balance.mdx);
   * [request a refund of unused funds](/balance-and-payments/manage/refund.mdx);
   * [delete your bank card](/balance-and-payments/manage/scheduled-payments.mdx#delete-bank-card).

2. In the [control panel](https://my.selectel.ru/profile/security), open the menu in the upper right corner (your account number) and select **Profile**.

3. Go to the **Security and Login** section.

4. In the **Account deletion** block, click **Request deletion**.

5. Select your reason for deleting the account — you can choose from one to three reasons.

6. If you selected **Other**, please leave a comment. Comments are not required when selecting other reasons.

7. Click **Create ticket**. After your request is reviewed, we will delete the account.
