General information about the Multifactor two-factor authentication service

Two-factor authentication allows you to add an extra layer of user identity verification to improve the security of access to your system.

The service is provided in the form of licenses to use Multifactor.

The Multifactor solution complies with regulatory requirements:

  • is listed in the register of Russian software (No. 7046);
  • complies with the international PCI DSS standard;
  • is certified by FSTEC (No. 5039).

Use cases

  • adding a second factor when logging in to your system using the Multifactor application;
  • protecting remote access to the work system via VPN, RDP, SSH, and virtual desktops (VDI);
  • protection when logging in to the operating system;

How it works

When ordering the service, you provide the full name, phone number, and corporate email of the administrator who will have access to the Multifactor control panel. The administrator will receive an email with a link to the Multifactor control panel and instructions for setting up two-factor authentication. The administrator configures two-factor authentication following the instructions from the email.

To access your system, the user authenticates first using their username and password, and then with a second factor chosen by the administrator. Multifactor checks for compliance with access policies and makes a decision: to allow or deny the user's access to the system.

All actions are recorded in the event log, which is available in the Multifactor control panel.

Areas of responsibility

Selectel provides licenses to use the Multifactor solution and access to the Multifactor control panel.

You are responsible for configuring and administering two-factor authentication in the control panel and Multifactor applications for your users.

Cost

The cost of the service depends on:

  • the number of licenses (available from 5 licenses);
  • of the plan: Standard or Advanced. The Advanced plan includes a Telegram chat with technical support, a personal manager, personalization of the mobile application, and more;
  • single sign-on (SSO) connection.

To pay for the service, depending on the balance type in your account, use the unified balance or primary balance.

The service is paid for on a monthly basis. The payment for the first month is deducted on the day the service is activated. Subsequently, the service is renewed automatically, and funds are deducted from the balance on the first day of each following month.

What is included in the cost

  • administrator access to the Multifactor control panel;
  • user group access to the Multifactor application in accordance with the number of licenses and selected plan.
